What can I say... I am beyond shocked that is has been a year since I lasted updated my blog and posted about our crazy life with two under two! I am ashamed of myself for not posting monthly updates on Mason's past year, and even further ashamed of myself for not having written a single post about my precious little Lily who made her arrival 6 months ago! What can I say?.... Life is beyond hectic with two little love bugs in the mix and I've been busy living it! The two of them are the most amazing gifts I've ever been blessed enough to enjoy and experience, they truly mean the world to me and I want to remember all the tiny details that make each of them so special and unique but they are changing and growing everyday and I just can't keep up, I know my memory will fail me one day and I won't be able to recall all the special moments that we've shared together! But I am determined to not let another year of fantastic changes, adventures, suprises, discoveries, and amazing memories slip by without keeping track of it here for myself, my family, my friends, and especially for my kids to be able to look back on and remember so fondly! Tomorrow will be my first official update on all that has happend in the last year, and then I will post an update about Mason's 2nd birthday and all the wonderful things that have come with turning 2! I will also post about Lily's arrival and the amazing things that have been going on with her for the last 6 months! I'm looking forward to getting back on track with this blog and leaving a little path behind so we can take a walk down memory lane anytime we get the urge as well as having an outlet to share all the crazy, sweet, hectic, emotional, tender, funny, gut wrenching moments that make this Our Life with Masey MaGoo and Little Lily Boo too!

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-74843304733960545952011-03-10T18:55:00.000-08:002011-03-10T19:57:40.155-08:00My baby is ONE!!Dear my sweet little mason,
I cannot even believe my eyes, you are One year old already! The last year has literally flown by for us and it has been the happiest most joyful and exciting time that your daddy and I have ever experienced. To say that having you gives our lives meaning and purpose is such an understatement. You are what drives us and motivates us each and every day to work hard, have fun, smile, love, laugh, and be a true family. We were not really a family until you came into our lives, we were just a loving couple waiting on our family to be complete! And now we are a family in every sense of the word! When I found out that God was going to bless us with you, I prayed every night for a happy, healthy, loving, funny, handsome, smart and sweet baby! And that is exactly what God gave me when he gave me you! You are the sweetest most loving person and your hugs and kisses fill my heart with a love I could never have imagined. You are happy, so very happy! You smile all the time, the sweetest, cutest, most silly little smile and it lights up the room and everyone around you, it is so contagious! You are friendly as can be and so funny! You are our "little ham" our "social butterfly" and you do not meet a stranger anywhere! Everywhere we go you smile and wave and say "hey", "hi" or "hello" to each and every person, you have a way of making people feel so special and you can command attention and a smile from every person we pass! People are always remarking on your friendly and charismatic personality! You are so very smart! You play with so many other kids and babies which is amazing for your age, you know so many words and phrases! The list includes: hello, hi, hey, bye, thank you, there you go, mama, dada, ling-ling, nana, mady, juice, bottle, go, dipe, etc
You understand so many things that we say to you and you follow our directions so well! You are attentive and listen and watch everything that goes on. You give kisses and say "Muah", you wave hello and bye, you pretend to talk on our phones and anything that resembles a phone, you are a confident walker and runner and have been for many months now. If we ask you what the chicken says you say "bahk, bahk", what the cow says you say "moo". You know where eyes, ears, nose and mouths are. You know where your feet are and what your socks and shoes are. You will give high fives, and point to things and call them by name. You love to play with other kids. You love to go outside! You love to sing and dance to music and love to watch musical shows on TV like "jacks big music show", "the fresh beat band" and "yo gabba gabba" you also enjoy other shows like "toot and puddle" and "olivia" and "sesame street". You still love cars and anything with wheels! You eat table foods and enjoy many of the foods that daddy and I eat for dinner. You love banana, blueberry waffles, and cheerios. You are drinking Cow's milk out of a sippy cup 4 times a day and eating 3 meals a day. You are very independent but still love to come and sit on my lap! You nap once or twice a day and go to bed around 8:00 or 8:30. You are not a morning person like momma! You are learning so many new things and saying new words every single day! You had your one year well visit and weighed 18 lbs and measured inches long. One of the most exciting changes this past year has been finding out that we are going to have another baby. You are going to be a big brother soon and I know you are going to teach your little sister so many things and love her so very much! You are such a sweet, kind, and loving person, so i know that your little sister will be well taken care of with you as her big brother. You are such a joy in our lives that I know having your baby sister will bring us just as much joy and love as you give us! I'm looking forward to having our family complete and I hope that you know how much we love you and how important you are to us! You are my world, you are so energetic and on the move all day! We spend all day playing, watching shows, dancing, and talking. You love to play with ling-ling and call her by name. You enjoy playing with your toys, mostly cars and musical toys, but you love to be played with, talked to, chased, play peak a boo or "where's mason". You love to listen to your daddy play the guitar and help him strum it. You sing along with your toys and hum the rhythms of the songs they play, you know the music by heart. If there is music playing you are bouncing up and down and moving your head to the beat. You like to pat the table, floor, or someones leg when you hear a rhythm and you are usually right on the beat! I do believe you have a gift for music and I cant wait to see where it takes you as you grow older! You are changing so much every single day, you are taller, you have lots of gorgeous hair that curls up in the back, especially when its wet, your personality has developed so much and you are so interactive and smart! I love your sweet cuddles that you always save for me even though you are a busy boy, and you light up when your daddy comes home and always make us both feel so special. You love to listen to other people and laugh at things they laugh at and smile and talk to them. You have such a bright and bubbly personality and it is contagious! People cant resist being happy when they are around you! I cant believe how quickly you have grown before my eyes, it makes me sad to think time has slipped by so quickly, but every moment of watching you grow and learn and change has given me so much happiness and has been so much fun! I am so glad that i have been there for every moment of it and there are just not words to express how special you are to us! I love you more than life itself and i never new love or happiness like this until i had you! This past year has been such a blessing and I thank God everyday for giving you to us to love and to have your love, and i pray for many more years filled with the same happiness, love, and joy that we have experienced this past year! You have taught me to love in a way that I never thought that i could and you showed me what it truly was to be a mother and to have a family! You are truly the light of my life and I am so proud of you and Cant wait to see what God has in store for you! I hope you never forget what you mean to us and just how important you are to us!Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-41888885749668073512011-01-02T19:23:00.000-08:002011-01-02T20:23:29.246-08:00A December to Remember! This December was truly amazing! It was our first Holiday season with our sweet boy and it all started after our wonderful thanksgiving when we put up our Christmas tree. I must admit I was a little hesitant about putting up our tree with our glass ornaments on our tile floor with a newly walking 11 month old, but i was so surprised by how great Mason was with the tree. We put out all our decorations while he was sleeping and the next morning when he woke up, i carried him into the living room and he was awe struck by the lighted Christmas tree. I was smart enough to put the less breakable ornaments on the bottom but Mason was so gentle with the tree. All month he has loved the tree, he waves at it, he sits next to it and stares, he touches the branches gently, he lightly touches the ornaments with his finger tips. He even tries his best to say the word tree, he says "eee". If you ask him where the tree is, he will walk over to it. I hate that we are going to have to pack it up, I'm afraid it will be disappointing to him. The one thing that we unfortunately cannot pack away and clear out of our living room is all the toys mason got for Christmas. On Christmas eve we went Landon's parents house in the afternoon and exchanged our gifts with them. Mason got a light up drum, two books, a megablocks boat, a music cube, and a toy tractor. Later we all headed to Landon's grandmother Hinson's house where Mason enjoyed playing with all of his cousins and we were excited to announce our family news. Mason enjoyed his new toy truck, race car, turtle toy, and new outfit. He loved being around all of the other kids and was so excited at everything that was going on. After a great night of wonderful family, food, and fun, we went home and put Mason to bed on his very first Christmas Eve! The next morning we woke up, Mason enjoyed his bottle on his bean bag and Landon and I enjoyed a cup of coffee. My mom came down the hill to our house and we opened our Christmas gifts. Mason had little interest in opening his gifts on his own, so Ling-Ling jumped right in and helped tear in to his gifts. He got a push cart, a monster puzzle, a pair of pj's, a tractor ride toy, some bath boats, train cars, stacking cups, and a play tent. Landon surprised me with a new ipod and a few weeks earlier i surprised him with a new salt water fish (a lunar wrasse) for our aquarium. After a few hours of playing, eating breakfast, and cooking our dishes for lunch at my moms, we got ready and went to my moms house for Christmas with my family. My brother and his wife and two girls came over and we had a delicious lunch and then opened gifts. Mason got an alligator piano, an Eeyore stuffed animal, a Monica the moo cow lawn mower, some clothes, and some cute little stocking stuffers. He got an adorable pair of toy story pj's from his cousins. Later that day we went to Landon's Grandparents on his dads side, the Greenes. They had music and food at the fellowship hall near their house and when we got there Landon jumped right in with his guitar and played hours of bluegrass while Mason and i visited, played, open presents, ate yummy food, danced to the music and played some more. Mason had such a big time walking around and being the center of attention, waving and smiling and being so adorably cute!! He loved the music so much and would wave at his daddy and walk over to his daddy while he was playing, he would try to touch his daddy's guitar and at one point even turned his papaws bass guitar off while he was playing. He loved bopping and dancing to the music and when the music would change to a fast paced song Mason would just about burst with excitement, clapping his hands and waving his arms around in excitement. He had a great time seeing everyone, being some place new and opening his gifts. He got so many neat toys like a set of weebles with a merry-g0-round, a sing-a-ma-jig doll, a jack in the box, a drum pad, a pillow pet puppy, a shape sorter toy, and a clock toy. He had such a great time playing with all of his new toys and was entertained for hours with them. He also loved playing with his cousin Carson who was there, and they had a lot of fun together. We also got to share our exciting announcement with Landon's family as well (more on the exciting news in an upcoming post). It was a long two days of Christmas celebrations but we enjoyed every minute of it!! And I'm really looking forward to next Christmas when Mason will hopefully get the hang of opening his own gifts!! Now we just have a couple of weeks till mason's first birthday!! I can't even believe he will be turning ONE! This year has flown by in a flash, and has been the happiest and most exciting and joyful year of my life!!Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-55701377086905231602011-01-01T14:04:00.000-08:002011-01-02T19:01:02.512-08:00Mason's 11 month update a little late!I'm a little behind on mason's 11 month update but there are just so many new things happening in our lives. In the last month Mason has become a confident well balanced walker! He walks EVERYWHERE all the time now and rarely crawls. He got his first pair of real walking shoes this month from stride rite, they are so adorable and stay on his feet well. He has also learned to stand up on his own without pulling up on anything. He is speaking some new words, the newest is "ahh-ohh" he says it everytime he drops something on the floor. Here is his current list: mama, daddy (no longer Dada), nah-nah (my mom), hey, bye, hi, eee (tree), baba, Go, and something that sounds like no-no but he says it more like (neh-neh). He waves all the time now and especially if someone says hello or bye-bye he waves. He shakes his little head side to side like he's saying no but he doesn't actually mean no, he just thinks it's cute. If you ask mason where his tongue is he will stick it out at you and if you ask where his paci goes he will stick his tongue out. He also likes to scrunch his nose up and snort at you, it looks so mean but he knows it is funny and loves to do it for attention. He loves music and likes to dance and bounce up and down when he hears any kind of rhythm. He also loves to try to sing a long with songs and will humm and make little noises that mimic the sounds. Mason has two new teeth coming in on the top next to his two front teeth. He really understands so many words and things that we say and do. If you ask him where the fish are he will look at the fish tank then walk over to it and wave at the fish. If you ask him where the Christmas tree is or where ling ling is, he will look at it or walk to it. He is eating so many new table foods, lately he loves his organic cereal/nutrigrain bars and cheerios with a fruit puree for breakfast, he has 4 bottles a day with 6 oz formula and an ounce or two of regular organic whole milk to transition him from soy, for dinner he has two vegetables and some of our dinner. He also has cereal for snacks during the day and eats a lot of things that we eat now too! He is drinking out of sippy cups with no problem other than he is a little messy with them compared to bottles, so we are still giving him his milk in bottles sometimes too. His favorite toys are still any type of cars or trucks, he loves pushing them around the house and he loves the wheels. He naps once in the morning and once in the afternoon on days that we are home. He likes to have his paci for his naps and he likes to have his glow seahorse on and his light up elephant on while he naps. we have to run two fans during nap time and bedtime because he is still a very light sleeper. He goes to bed around 8:30 and wakes around 8 am if nothing wakes him up earlier, occasionally he will sleep till 9 or 9:30 am. He is still wearing 9 month pants in the waist but needs 12 month length. My best guess is he weighs about 20 lbs. He is quickly outgrowing his rear facing car seat because his legs are so long. He loves to watch "Olivia", "toot and puddle", "the fresh beat band", and "Mrs. spiders sunny patch". Mason loves to play in the mirror, he likes to explore the house and he now will walk to his room, open the gate, and go into his room and play, then open the gate and come back out. He is such a happy little guy and everywhere we go people remark how happy he is, and they are so right. Mason is so very friendly to everyone he meets, he smiles and waves at people in stores and places we go, he makes everyone feel so special and when they talk to him he just lights up and gets so excited he kicks his legs and waves his little arms in the air in excitement. He is so delightful to be around and has such a great personality.Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-61503883502564627632010-12-09T17:41:00.000-08:002011-01-02T19:17:50.773-08:00Christmas Town USA

Being Mason's first Christmas Season, I've been so excited to create our own new traditions this year that we can enjoy as a family for years to come. One thing I had been hoping to do this year was for Landon and I to take Mason to Mcadenville (Christmas Town USA) to see the beautiful lights. Landon had never been and it has been many years since I last visited Mcadenville at Christmas time. After begging Landon for weeks to go, our good friends, Maclaren and Erica, invited us to go along with them on Tuesday night and I was thrilled. It was really so much fun to go along with them and their sweet little girl Riley. I got such a kick out of watching Mason and Riley riding in their little car seats side by side and looking in amazement at the beautiful lights and houses! They are just too cute together, I hope they will grow to be great friends as they get older! We had such a wonderful time and it was so nice to get to spend it with our good friends! Mason has really enjoyed all the beautiful lights, trees, and decorations that we've seen this Christmas season!! It is so great to see the excitement and joy through his eyes, he finds beauty and excitement in the smallest details, things I hardly even notice immediately catch his eye and he is completely fascinated!

We took our Christmas photos with our great photographer friend Kim last Friday and we got to see a sneak peak at 2 of our photos so here they are! Unfortunately Landon couldn't be there for our Christmas pics so I still have to figure out what to do about a family pic for our Christmas cards, which I need to get ordered soon, but i am waiting on the rest of our Christmas pics before i decide on anything! And last Saturday we took Mason to see Santa Claus for the first time. We went to the mall to see him and waited in line for nearly 2 hours, it was ridiculous and Mason was totally over it by the time we got up there to see Santa. He waved in delight and was smiling and happy, he didn't even mind Santa holding him, until i walked away for them to take his picture. As i turned my back to him, he totally freaked and started crying, I quickly took him his paci and everything seemed all better but unfortunately his little eyes were still red in the picture and the ugly paci was in the pics too. We also got a group shot of him with his cousins Madison and Molly! I leave you with the pics!

he went from being a little boy who would take a few wobbly steps here or there
to being a little boy who was brave and walking back and forth from mom to dad on his own
he was so proud
we were so very proud
it was amazing and i was thankful for that moment
as long as i live i will never forget that moment and i <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" perfect, Mason's first thanksgiving was pretty close to it
Mason loved it, he loved seeing his cousins and getting to play.
He loved going to his grandma Lisa's house to eat,
he loved visiting and showing off for his Aunt and Uncle and his great grandmother Stegall.
he loved eating mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, and cream corn
he loved exploring the house, walking from table to table, person to person
not one nap was had the entire day
we also ventured on to visit his great grandma & great grandpa Greene's for dinner
we enjoyed having them all to ourselves since everyone was else was out of town this year
yep, you heard correctly
Masons grandparents randy and Annette were at the beach with his great grandma here with us
i think of how different things are
and how much has changed
and thinking of the changes makes me look ahead
i find myself thinking about next year
and all the changes that life has in store for us.
I wonder what our thanksgiving will be like next year
it's hard to imagine my baby boy growing up
i can really only picture him the way he is now
but i know next year i will be looking back wondering where the time went.
and marveling at how much he has grown and how different things are after just one year!
We are really align="center">10 month old Mason is keeping Landon and I on our toes every minute. He is doing so many new things these days and is busting with personality and charisma! Mason has totally mastered waving and for the last several weeks he is constantly waving at everyone and everything. He will wave at most anyone and even wave at buildings, lights, figurines, the TV, and anything else that looks interesting. He will still occasionally say bye-bye and it has gotten very clear and understandable, it's so adorable to hear his sweet little voice! In addition to mam, dada. gaga, and geh he has started saying "hey" (it's his own little version of hey, but Landon and i know that is what he is saying because he will say it back to you when you say hey and he will say it while waving. He has also learned to turn his wave into a knock. And he loves to knock on his toys, walls, windows doors, and even other kids and people. Yes, Mason crawled right up to one of his favorite story time pals at the library and waved at him then knocked on his head a couple times. It was one of the funniest things and all i could do was apologize to the boys mom, but she thought it was humorous too!! Mason has really turned into quite a character lately, well he has always been a character but his personality is really coming into his own as of late. He really loves to be around other people and truly lights up with the most magnificent smile when someone pays him attention. He is such a delightful little fella and just truly the happiest baby you will ever meet! Mason is getting so close to walking, everyday he takes a few steps on his own and Landon and i are on the edge of our seats waiting for him to take off on his own. He will walk all over the house holding onto one of our fingers and loves to push his pushcart all over the house but he often runs into the furniture and the walls and docent know how to get around it so he will just plop down and play with the wheels. He LOVES wheels!! He seems to know what trucks are and he will turn over anything that has wheels on it and spin the wheels. He still LOVES his sesame street table and will bang on it while watching TV. He tries to mimic the "la,la,la-lala-lahhh" and has also started mimicking a lot of the words and sounds that Landon and i say. He seems to really understand a lot of things we tell him or say to him. He also likes to "sing along" while you sing. And just today i caught him wiggling and bouncing while the "toot & puddle" song came on, it was so adorable and my heart melted to see him wiggle his little booty. I hope that he will have a love for music and dancing, like his dad and I! He is eating a lot more table foods, he can eat cheerios, chopped spaghetti, little pieces of ground beef or turkey, mashed potatoes, soft cooked veggies like pieces of cooked carrots and peas, he can eat rice and loves to have anything we will give him off of our plates while we are eating. he can feed his self a lot of things that you put on his tray for him to pick up. He really enjoys feeding himself and loves to eat his food at the table along with everyone else. He is also drinking nearly all of his formula out of his sippy cups. He LOVES his bath time and we have a lot of fun at bath time now because he is big enough to sit up in his tub and play and splash with his toys. Landon and I both love to sit and watch him play during his bath time and he is always in such a great mood after his baths! At his last Doctors visited he weighed a little over 19 lbs. He is going to bed around 8pm and loves getting his teeth brushed before bed, he has to have his glow worm or light-up elephant to get to sleep at night time and nap time. I have been sneaking into his room occasionally to see him sleeping with his face down, knees tucked under, rump in the air and head under the blanket. When you see how he sleeps in his crib it is the most adorable thing. He wakes on his own somewhere between 6:30 and 9:00 with no explanation for the 2 and a half hour difference. i love the 9 am mornings and hate the 6:30 mornings. he loves to play with Ling and will grab up one of her toys and tug back and forth with her while giggling the whole time. He has a mighty grip and he loves to get ling's attention. he is quickly outgrowing his clothes because he is so long, he is wearing 6 and 9 month onesies and pants in the waist but he is so long he needs 12 months for the length. We have started planning mason's first birthday because it is just around the corner!! And we are looking forward to the upcoming holidays!! This week will be celebrating Mason's first thanksgiving and i know that we have so very much to be thankful for this year!! I can't wait for Mason to get his first taste of homemade thanksgiving dinner!!

Playing in the office while mom works

At the Southern Christmas Show

Excited for my bath, watching my tub fill up!

Waiting with bath toy in hand

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-32724668953785248922010-11-18T12:42:00.000-08:002010-11-18T13:03:31.498-08:00The holidays are upon us!!It's that time of year already, the holidays are quickly approaching!! And even though it may seem early I've already started preparing for the holiday season, i've been pulling out my decorations, planning where the tree is going to go, scheduling family pictures, and i have also started planning our holiday greeting cards for this Christmas season. I'm very excited to be using shutterfly this year for our holiday photo cards. I have never ordered cards through them in the past but i have heard amazing things from friends and famly who have used them and who loved them! This year will be our first year as a family and our first year with Mason included in our gretting cards, so I am very excited to send our cards out to all of our family friends! I've been looking through all the beautiful cards and shutterfly and really like the classic styles and the cards that have multiple pictures because it is always hard to narrow it down to just one picture, so i am loving the fact that there are so many styles that have room to put in all your favorite pics onto your card! I'm loving all the great designs on shutterfly but i am particularly liking this card and I also love this photo card. What do you all think? You can check out ALL of their photo Christmas cards Here!! And if you are interested in recieving 50 free cards you can go HERE!! I hope everyone will take advantage of this great offer and be sure to check out all the beautiful cards and invitations on Shutterfly!!Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-79311326321599001742010-11-13T07:15:00.000-08:002010-11-13T07:58:39.857-08:00Pajama Man
Mason is 10 months old today and it makes me excited for the future but scared at how quickly he is growing up and how fast time is slipping away!! As of a few days ago Mason has a new tooth poking through on the top next to his front left tooth. That will be 5 total. He is so close to walking but just won't commit to it. You will catch him taking a few steps on his own but as soon as he realizes it he will plop down and crawl. Here's a video i took this week of Mason pushing his toy around the kitchen, it also shows his new waving skills and a little crawling! I've got to get better about taking some videos of him!!

Isn't he just too cute in his little PJ's?

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-88095559463921407322010-10-24T15:10:00.000-07:002010-11-09T14:33:46.099-08:00Fall Fun with Mason

Mason turned 9 months nearly 4 weeks ago, and so began our fall. We have been enjoying this beautiful weather change as well as all the changes in the Greene house! Mason at 9 months became extremely mobile and even attempted a couple steps unassisted before plopping onto his bottom, but he is still not yet ready to walk. He started holding his arm out when you would tell him to say bye-bye and since then has really gotten the hang of waving at people. At 9 months he started saying bye-bye but would only say it occasionally depending on his mood and when he'd say bye, it was well after the moment had passed. Since his last update at 8 months he has gotten another tooth in that makes 3 on the bottom and one on top. We also took Mason on his first trip to the Zoo this past month on the 1st of October. Neither Landon or I have been since probably out middle school days to the best of our recollection. It was a celebration of our 3 year wedding anniversary and we couldn't think of anything better than a fun filled day at the Asheboro Zoo, just the 3 of us. Mason had the absolute best time, he has always had a love for animals and fish. He was so interested in all there was to see and I'd like to think he gets that fascination from both Landon and I. All 3 of us had a blast, the weather couldn't have been anymore perfect and it was by far one of the most enjoyable days i have ever had. Spending time with mason and Landon together is the greatest gift i could have ever asked for and the Zoo was just so much fun! Mason's 9 month old birthday started off kind of rocky after Mason had a night of crying and sleeplessness to which we woke up the next morning to find he had busted blood vessels all over his entire face. It was absolutely horrible looking and although he seemed to be feeling fine we thought it was best to have the doctor take a look at it. I took him to the doctor that morning and we were horrified to find out that she thought it could be a serious issue with his blood clotting properly, so she sent mason and i directly to Presbyterian children's hospital for blood work to be done. Mason and i waited for hours for someone to take his blood but when they finally drew his blood mason did amazingly well, he didn't even cry, just a little flinch while he sucked on his paci and played with his lucky green care bare that the hospital staff gave him. It was so nice to see such friendly and caring people concerned for my sweet boy. Mason seemed very pleased with his new care bear and it was really ironic that his care bear had a lucky clover on it! We were truly blessed with "luck" and were so relieved when masons test scores came back normal and the doctor told us the pitikia was just from mason straining during his crying fit. He was back at the Dr the next morning for his 9 month stats where he weighed 17 lbs 11 oz and measured 29 inches long. His doctor said it was time for Mason to start on more solid foods and that we should begin to introduce more table foods, textures, and a sippy cup. We started giving mason stage 3 foods and over the last month, he has began eating some soft table foods like mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and mashed bananas. He was not crazy over the new textures and would sometimes gag a little but has quickly come around and is now loving table foods and stage 3's. He also took right to his nubby sippy cup and now drinks all his formula from the sippy cup. We are basically bottle free at this point. Luckily Mason's face cleared up almost completely in 3 days which was just in time for our fall pictures. The month of October with Mason has been great! We have really enjoyed Mason's first fall and kicked off the month of October with fall pictures at the pumpkin patch in York. Mason was 9 months and 2 days old the day we visited the patch for pictures and fun! Mason loved the chickens and thought the pigs were funny at first until one pig nipped his hand which made him cry. We had a great time though and Kim took some amazing pics of us as a family and some of mason at the patch too. A couple days later my mom and i took mason to a cute little pumpkin stand near the house to look at their pumpkins. They gave us a cute little wagon for mason to ride in and we put him a blanket in it and pulled him around while we looked. he absolutely loved riding in the wagon, it was his first time riding in one and we took some adorable pics of him in the wagon and with all the beautiful pumpkins and mums. mom bought mason an adorable little mini pumpkin with a silly face painted on it and mason loved playing with it! The weekend before Halloween we took mason and his cousins to a boo bash festival where they dressed up and enjoyed painting pumpkins, eating cotton candy, and playing games. We also took the three of them to our church carnival the day before Halloween, where mason had a great time riding in his stroller while smiling and laughing at all the other kids at the carnival. The girls played lots of fun games and took home a bag full of candy they won. Mason really enjoyed watching his cousins ride the spinning swings, he thought that was very funny!! We wrapped up our Halloween with trick or treating on Sunday with me, Landon, my mom, brother, and sister in law, as well as my nieces molly and Madison!! it was a super fun night and i couldn't get over how much fun mason had trick or treating!! yes, mason did trick or treat, he loved it, he is such a social fella and loves to meet new people and smiling faces. when we weren't carrying him, he would ride in his stroller with his candy bucket clipped onto it and Landon would push him in his stroller up to the door with his cousins! Sometimes he would pick out his own candy out of the bowl and hold onto it for dear life. he wasn't sure what it was but he liked holding it and didn't want anyone to take it away!! He would laugh and squeal in delight and loved being pushed around in his stroller, kicking his legs and flailing his arms around in excitement!! He loved seeing all the other kids out trick or treating too!! We really had an amazing Halloween and i cant believe that this was the first of many more memorable Halloween's to come!! Now we are looking forward to Mason turning 10 months in less than a week and we are looking forward to our first thanksgiving with mason as a family!! We have so much to be thankful for this year!! I'm greatly looking forward to this holiday season!!

Here's Pics from the Zoo Mason is 8 mon. 2 weeks
<img style="WIDTH: 214px; Mason is now 8 months & 11 days old, and he is doing so much these days!! His crawling skills have improved immensely and he is incredibly fast. You can set him down and as soon as you turn around, you will hear his little hands and feet slapping the tile as he chases you across the house!! He can go anywhere and get into anything, and he takes full advantage of this. He loves to stand up, he will grab anything he can get especially the backs of your pant legs to pull himself up. Now he has begun to let go and stand on his own for a few seconds before plopping onto his butt, or even better, lowering himself slowly to the floor. He has learned to control his sitting and will patiently lower his bottom down to the floor with his arms out in front for balance! He is creeping from one object/piece of furniture to the next. He gets into everything now, he loves to pull up on the recliner, couch, coffee table, fish tank, toilets, trash can and kitchen cabinets. He can also stand up using flat surfaces like the wall or window. He still likes his walker but is not so crazy over the bouncer anymore. He has a new fascination with his alphabet pal caterpillar, his sesame street activity table, and his push car, but other than those he mostly spends his time crawling & exploring every crack and crevice in our home, and standing up as much as possible. We have caught him in the kitchen opening the drawers and chewing on the handles, so we have started baby proofing the house over the last few days! We installed a baby gate across the doorway in his room and we also invested in a large living room carpet earlier this month. The rug was a great invetment because it gives him a huge area he can crawl and play on within the living room, and the adults have enjoyed it too because we can now sit on the floor as well. Other challenges have been keeping his and ling's toys separate, he loves her toys and she loves his, which is a bad combination because they both slobber all over their toys and they both put them into their mouths! I hate germs and I hate dog hair getting on mason and the thought of it going in his mouth, is too much for me!! We also are now dealing with the fact that mason understands food & eating and he will no longer let us sit through a meal peacefully without him having a bottle or food of his own. This has been tough because Landon and i are not on a 4 hour schedule like mason and we are still only feeding him organic foods with no added salt or sugar. Mason, along with everyone else, cannot understand why he cant have some of our foods, it's not just an issue over eating organic, everyone fails to consider the fact that Mason cannot handle textures yet and that we are trying to prevent food allergies. This is very frustrating and has caused some major "Mason Meltdowns" in several restaraunts! He can however snack on the puffs now and does try to pick them up between his fingers and feed himself, which he is successful at about 3 out of 10 times. It is pretty adorable to watch him feed himself. We don't have any height or weight stats yet because his next Dr appointment is not until next month, but he is still eating 6 oz bottles 4 times a day and is eating fruit and sometimes cereal for breakfast and a veggie and a fruit at night. He has started eating the puffs for babies and has done really well with them. He has also started drinking some juice, we finally found a flavor he likes... grape! He still doesn't want to drink out of the sippy cups, just plays with them and gets mad when they leak. He is about to outgrow his car seat, he is so long that his feet hangout and so heavy, hardly anyone can carry him in the car seat. Because of the hassle of the carseat, we have started using my cart covers that i made, and letting him ride in the grocery carts like a big kid. He also sits in the high chairs at restaurants now too with the cover. He says mama, dada, gaga, baba, luh, and the newest word "geh" which is egg. We gave him plastic eggs to play with the other day and he became all about the word "geh" "gig" and once in a while we actually heard "egg" but now, he mostly uses "geh". He loves to talk and babble, and has really started to hone in on his own little personality. He will give me kisses on the mouth, he hasn't yet gave them to anyone else except Madison once. He is still very much a mommas boy and wants me to hold him and play with him all the time! We have had some changes in our schedule since i started back to school, Mason now goes to Landon's cousin Lisa's house on Wednesdays while i am in school, and he loves it! He loves her little boy Logan,so much and i can tell he really loves being around other children! Landon keeps mason on Mondays while I'm in school and that works out great, because they get their own special time together, which is hard to get with Landon's busy work schedule. I love how well this has worked out this semester!! I feel completely comfortable leaving him on those two days a week and i never thought i would be able to do it, but it's totally working and i am so happy to be making strides towards graduating!! Another new activity that we have added to our schedule is story time at our local library on Tuesday mornings. Mason loves to play, crawl and interact with the other babies but has little interest in the books and songs! He seems way too independent to sit in my lap for half an hour when there is so much to explore in that great big room. Landon and i try to read to him from his books in is room and he enjoys the pictures and listening to us talk but gets frustrated when we don't let him rip the pages and eat the books. I'm sure it will improve as he gets older. I hope that mason will learn to have a love for books and reading!! As of today we have more exciting news, i just discovered Masons newest tooth, on the top in the front! That makes 3 all together now! We also have our 3 year wedding anniversary coming up on Wednesday the 29th. I was hoping for a family trip, just the 3 of us, to the mountains but I'm not sure yet if that will work out for us!! The time is slipping by and we have so much to look forward to, masons first Halloween is just around the corner, then thanksgiving, and Christmas, then Masons first birthday will be upon us!!

8 month pics
<img style="WIDTH: 320px; I ordered them two weeks ago when we decided to try and make the switch from disposables to cloth. I decided to go with a pocket style diaper, which has the convenience of disposables, you simply stick an absorbent insert into a pocket within the diaper. Pocket diapers are nice because you can adjust the absorbency by using as many inserts as you need at night time or for naps or long trips. I have always been somewhat interested in cloth diapering for many reasons and when i would see some of the modern cloth diapers it looked appealing. During my pregnancy Landon and I discussed the option of using cloth diapers on our future baby but after watching an episode of "dirty jobs with mike row" where he worked for a cloth diaper laundry service, we were both a little grossed out to say the least. The final nail in the coffin came once we priced these modern marvels they call cloth diapers and we were blown away by the price. One diaper ranged between $18-$30, and i could no longer see how this was going to save us money, and even if it would in the long run it was going to cost us so much to get started that we just couldn't see a way to swing it. I have kept up my reading on cloth diapers and from time to time i still checkout others blogs and message board posts, and recently came across some reviews on sunbaby diapers. I read that they were an economical choice because they claimed to fit from birth to potty training by adjusting the rows of snaps.

They were also less than $5 per diaper including the inserts. So after much consideration and reading many different reviews on these diapers, Landon and i decided to give them a try. We ordered 10 diapers, which should be enough for one day along with the 3 other cloth diapers that we have owned as back up diapers and never really used. It has taken two full weeks for my diapers to come and in the mean time i have been doing tons of research on cloth diapers and I'm very excited to give this new adventure a try. Yesterday when my diapers arrived i prepped them by washing twice on a hot/cold cycle with Charlies Soap (a special laundry detergent recommended for cloth diapers) then i stripped the 3 older diapers we already had, because i had been washing them with regular detergent and didn't realize that i was causing detergent build up in the diapers that would cause absorbency issues. Regular detergent is not great for cloth diapers, there are brands that are better than others, and using about 1/4 the amount of detergent that you would normally use in your laundry can also help prevent problems. The Charlies detergent was $17 for a small 2.64 lbs bag, which made me apprehensive to buy it but it claims to do 80 washes and you only use a tablespoon per wash, so in that case it should last me about 5 months, since I'll be washing my diapers every other day.

We started out with 10 diapers just to give this brand a shot, but we are going to be purchasing 10 more soon so that we will have 23 diapers total and will only have to do laundry every other day. I will update more about our new experiences with the CD but so far we have had great success!! I'm excited that i don't have to worry about chemicals and carcinogens on my baby's butt anymore, that I'm not going to be contributing 6,000 diapers per child to the land fills, that he'll be more likely to potty train quicker, and that these diapers seem to fit masons legs better and so far have had fewer leaks. We typically leak out the legs of every disposable diaper multiple times a day and i am so tired of getting peed on!! lol! It's still early for us to tell how this is going to workout in the long term, but so far so good. A lot of people don't think they can handle the poo diapers, and that was honestly my biggest concern, but now that mason has started solids his poops really aren't that messy and it comes off of the diapers easily. I bought some heavy duty cleaning gloves just in case i need to use them, but so far i have just used a wipe to pick up the poop and bag it (then i put the bag in the diaper genie), some people shake it off into the toilet and some people buy a sprayer to spray it off into the toilet, any method works fine and then I have a separate laundry pail just for his diapers. As far as going out, i just pack the diapers in his diaper bag and i also take small plastic diaper bags from the dollar store and a small waterproof zippered pouch. When i change him i just roll up the dirty diaper and bag it in a small plastic bag, tie it shut, and toss it into the zippered pouch. When i get home in the evenings i take the zippered pouch to the bathroom, get rid of any poop, and throw all the diapers into the laundry pail. I plan to wash them every other day, it's only about 1/3 of a regular size load, and i use a half cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle, the use of vinegar comes highly recommended by other cloth diaper moms to help with the smell, stains, and bacteria, and it keeps the diapers bright. We machine dry the inserts and hang the diaper shell to dry (because they dry quickly and we dont want the heat to damage the waterproof PUL lining) a lot of people machine dry both, but we dont want to take any chances so landon put this adorable octopus (from ikea) thing up over our dryer for me to clip the diaper covers on. Anyone else cloth diaper or plan to cloth diaper their babies?? I'll update more about our cloth diapering experiences soon!! Here are some pics of his super cute diapers, i love all the colors!!

our stack

you can see the white inserts on the machine and our drying octopus

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-24207832966316546652010-08-16T07:16:00.000-07:002010-08-17T10:22:43.441-07:00Ch-ch-changes!

Well one thing is for certain, I am not so great at updating my blog lately. I cant believe my last post was Mason's 6 month update and now here i am with his 7 month update already. I think part of the problem with keeping my blog updated is the fact that there is just so much going on right now in the Greene house. We got a new SUV (to have more room for mason), we rennovated our office, our house was vandalized (someone attempted to breakin) so we had to change our locks, and one of the biggest developments is that I am getting ready to return to school next week, to try to finish up my degree and for the last several months i have been back and forth between three different schools and three different degree options, but i have finally decided that the best thing for me is to finish the quickest degree route possible. I did a lot of praying, asking God to show me the right path because I was having trouble deciding what to do and was running out of time. I had one path open up very clearly and I felt like it was my best option, it leaves me going to school two full days and one half day a week for 3 semesters, maybe less, and that gives me the most time with Mason because raising him and watching him grow is the absolute most important thing. Mason is my number one priority in life, but i also want him to have a mom he is proud of. I want him to grow up in a home where not only is his father a college graduate but his mother is as well. I have worked hard for 3 and half years on completing a degree and i have a huge amount of student loan debt to not have a degree in my hand, so i am determined to finish now, before something else gets in my way and delays me further. If i stay on track i could graduate by next December which would be a huge accomplishment and isn't very long from now.

One of our other big challenges in the Greene house has been Mason's constant need for his momma. He is becoming attached at my hip and literally wants me to hold him, play with him, and talk to him, every second of the day. When my mom holds him or Landon holds him, he will reach out for me to take him. He throws terrible tantrums if i set him down to get things done. I've tried letting him "cry it out" but needless to say it does nothing but get him hysterical and accomplishes nothing. he doesn't want to nap on his own, will only sleep if i am holding him, and as a result we get nothing accomplished these days. I read that babies this age can start to have separation anxiety and i think that is what we are dealing with. I hope that staying with Landon and my sister in law two days a week this fall will help him some.

Now that my baby boy is 7 months old, things are changing daily. He is growing so much and although i don't have his 7 month stats i can tell that he is getting taller, heavier, and stronger. In the last month Mason can sit totally unassisted without fear of a face plant, he can crawl up on all fours, he is pulling up to standing, he can stand holding onto things/people, he has two teeth, he eats all kinds of fruit and vegetable baby food twice a day and gets four bottles a day every 4 hours, he loves to play on the floor now, and can crawl, roll, and sit on his own. He has learned how to go from laying and crawling to sitting up on his own and we had to lower his crib this past month because when you go to get him up in the mornings he is sitting up in his crib. He can crawl from one side of his room to the hallway in what seems like less than 2 seconds and can no longer be trusted to stay put. he is a mover and shaker and the biggest wiggle worm. He has learned to anticipate the flash of the camera and will cheese really big and blink his eyes if you hold up a camera or phone, he is such a ham. The other day he was laying in the floor crying and having a tantrum and i pulled out the camera phone to take his picture and he stopped his crying and smiled real big, once i took the picture and set the phone down he resumed his crying. He is such a mess. He has attempted to say the word eyeball, we got "eye-ba-ba" and looked at Landon the other day and said "Dada" very plain but has never said it again. He knows he is mason, i am mama, and Landon is Dada, and he knows ling-ling by name, but still just babbles random sounds and i wouldn't say he is talking yet. As far as favorite toys this month he is loving his walker which we have been leaving at my moms house so he has something to play with and he loves anything you put on the floor for him to get, and his new favorite thing is balls. He loves balls and so does ling-ling, so she takes most of them away from him, which he thinks is so funny and laughs hysterically. We are still using the paci but he also likes to put his hands and anything else he can get into his mouth which is a constant challenge for me, because yes i am a germaphobe. We are trying to teach him to wave bye and of course to say mama, Dada, and Nani (my mom) but so far he is stubborn and won't say them for you, even though i know he can. Mason has had a busy month, he went to his cousin Leah's 1st birthday party, which was a pool party and he had a big time, he went to Jill's baby shower, he went to our friends Erica and Maclarens pool with Riley Grace to swim and play, and he also attended his very first story time at the library (which unfortunately ended up being their last class till Sept) he did amazing at story time, it was for babies up to 14 months and he was the youngest but he was so outgoing and played so well with other babies, i was surprised that he took off and crawled across the room and was so sociable with the others. I cant wait to take him back once they resume classes. It will be a special thing for us to enjoy on our days together this semester. Here are some pics of Mason this past month!

Mason loves coupons

Playing with dad before bed

Mason at the pool

Playing with his ball

Pool time with Erica and Riley Grace

Leah's Birthday Party

Mason at the YMCA

Playing with toys

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-12048084581721109252010-07-13T07:08:00.000-07:002010-07-13T07:59:01.210-07:006 Months already? My baby boy Mason is 6 months old today!! I am flabergasted at where the time has gone!?!?! It really seems as though that rainy day in January when we brought him home from the hospital just happend a few short weeks ago, not months, not half a year!! Half of a year??? Really?? The thought of "half of a year" having already passed, feels as though someone is playing a trick on me!! Time is playing a trick on me!! My baby is still a newborn right?? It feels like he should be, we just got him home and figured out what to do with him...... how to be parents, how to change diapers, breastfeed him, bottle feed him, burp him, swaddle him, get him to sleep through the night, fasten his car seat, carry him, and learn his likes and dislikes. But i guess it's true, he is 6 months old today, i've checked the calendar atleast twice, and done the math myself, My 8lbs 11 0z baby boy who came into this world and into my arms on January 13th at 4:04 pm, is no longer a newborn, he is a happy, healthy, energetic, bubbly 6 month old, who is crawling, babbling, eating baby food, and figuring things out for his self at a rapid pace. Here are some things you may or may not know about 6 month old Mason:

he loves to laugh (especially at ling-ling and landon, and his great grandma greene)

he loves to crawl, wiggle, bounce, jump, and roll around (he's never still)

he can sit up on his own but don't be suprised if he goes over face first into the ground so he can crawl

he likes to babble when he's tired or very excited and has been saying baba and mama routinely for about a month

he has a tooth (on the bottom in the middle) it is the cutest thing ever

he eats fruit in the morning and veggies in the evening and has just switched to four 6.5 oz bottles a day

he eats only organic foods, and i make mostly all of his baby food (and he likes the homemade the best)

he's definitely a mommas boy but has a very independent nature and is totally obsessed with his daddy

he has the bluest eyes, dimples on both cheeks, the longest eye lashes ever, thin light red hair that loves to get wavy/curly when wet, and invisible eyebrows

he is extremely sociable, he loves people, anyone and everyone, he smiles and flirts and opens his mouth so wide and big, he giggles and squeels in delight when someone pays him attention

he is amazingly strong

he is super smart and quick to learn and pick things up, he has an amazing little mind that is constantly working on figuring out this world

he sleeps from 9:30 pm to 7:30 am and rarely ever wakes durring the night

he is a morning person

he likes things that light up in the dark

he likes to play in his jumper and walker, he likes to play on the floor now too, and loves crawling and rolling around on our big bed with us

he has started riding in his big stroller

he can hold his own bottle when he wants to, but still likes for us to hold it sometimes too

he seems to love all fruits but i would say mangos and pears have been a favorite so far

he naps best on his side, face to face with you, and patting on the bottom helps, he tends to fight his naps and when he is fussy you know its because he is either tired or hungry

he still loves his baby einstein movies

he has a great affection for ling ling and loves to touch her when she lets him

he loves his cousins and other kids

he gets super excited about the toy isle

he likes to suck and gnaw on his thumb

he still loves his paci but prefers to take it out and gnaw on the sides of it often

he has an obsession with faces and enjoys clawing, scratching, and whacking people in thier mouths, eyes, and noses (be warned he will claw your gums, and stick his fingers so far up your nose you will never have sinus trouble again) he also likes to pull hair

his new found talent is slapping his hands on table tops (thank daddy for that one)

he is overly dramatic (like his momma) and knows if he cries he will get held.

He is amazing! He's perfect! We are so blessed, we really are!! I thank God for him everyday!! I will update later with pics, and height and weight stats!!
Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-50251048201695602802010-07-04T07:44:00.000-07:002010-07-06T19:53:23.232-07:00Happy 4th of July!

I just can't believe the 4th of July is here already. Almost every single year since i started middle school, i can remember going to fireworks on the 4th at pinelake country club in mint hill. Sitting on the green and watching all the kids of every age and size, running, playing, laughing and giggling, chasing each other around, dancing in the grass and playing with sparklers. It has always been my idea of the perfect family 4th of July and i always hoped that one day when i had children of my own, that we would be there too, watching them run and play on the soft green grass waiting for the fireworks. And last summer i remember being pregnant and thinking that it wouldn't be long before that was us with our children on the 4th. And now I'm sitting here shocked and amazed that today is my baby boys first Independence day. Mason is almost 6 months old, and he is crawling, babbling, eating baby food, holding his own bottle, laughing, sleeping through the night, sitting on his own, and getting his first tooth and i am truly amazed when i look back at how much has changed since i gave birth to my precious baby in January. I wonder what next years 4th of July will be like for us in the Greene house. I can safely assume that Mason will be walking, talking, eating big boy foods, and have changed so much it will make me want to cry. Who knows by next summer we may even be planning another baby Greene to add to the family. All i know for certain is that Landon and I's life has totally changed in the last year and it has changed for the better, and by next year i am sure it will have changed even more, but we are living our dream, having a family of our own and raising our son, which is the most precious gift. I am so thrilled to get to share in Mason's life all his joys and accomplishments, growth and milestones, it makes my life feel so much more rich and full. So today on the 4th i am so thankful for all the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country to protect our freedoms, it is because of them that i am able to live the kind of life that i do with my husband and son. And i am so thankful to them for protecting the future of our nation, for it is Mason's future as well. And I'm also thankful today to my Lord for blessing me with this wonderful life and wonderful family.

These are pictures from July 3rd when we decorated Mason's stroller and walked in the "peoples parade" in dowtown Matthews!

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-82595101939949594472010-06-30T12:45:00.000-07:002010-06-30T13:48:19.964-07:00Boys Night In, Mommas Night Out

Last night my two boys had a night in together. They had the house to themselves just the two of them, while my mom and i went out and enjoyed the new Eclipse movie. A friend gave me two free tickets to an early screening the day before it came out, it was such a nice thing for him to do for me and all because he knows how much i love the twilight books and the movies too. It was absolutely wonderful to go to the early screening, we went at 9 pm and were out by 11 pm, on our way out we noticed the hoards of people sitting in a roped off section of the theatre lobby waiting for the midnight showing. I was glad that i didn't have to wait in that kind of chaotic mess just to see it. And i was so thankful that the majority of the movie goers in the early screening were adults, or were accompanied by adults and were very quiet and respectful, which meant we were really able to enjoy the movie to its fullest. Now, if i could just find the time to read my new book "the short second life of Bree tanner" an eclipse novella.
Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-91251828001651762592010-06-28T18:32:00.000-07:002010-06-28T19:37:42.696-07:00Peas and Carrots
This morning I put Mason in his room for a little play time, i spread a small blanket out on the floor for him and laid him down to play. He immediately rolled over and started trying to crawl. He has been working on this for several weeks now, and i really think he has about got the hang of crawling, no joke. He has been army crawling for a good two weeks or more, and he really is becoming a mobile little creature. if you put him down he can travel at least 10 feet, by army crawling, scooting on his tummy, and rolling. I am becoming aware of how much this is going to rock our world around the house, once he is on the go for real. There are just so many changes now that he is 5 months old. He has started eating solids, organic only. At 4 months we started him on rice cereal with applesauce mixed in, and now he is eating carrots, peas, pumpkin, and is about to add sweet potatoes and bananas to the menu. He gets his usual 5 bottles a day (he is able to hold them his self but i still help) plus applesauce with cereal in the mornings and a veggie in the pm. He is a great eater and the only thing we've not had a liking for thus far is the peas, but he loves his carrots. lol. Fingers crossed he will be a veggie lover for life. I'm about to take on the new adventure of making his baby food myself, this should be an interesting experience, I'll let you know how it goes. He is starting to babble a lot and will say BABABA. If you say it to him he will repeat it back. We are working on teaching him to associate it with his bottle, and are encouraging mama and dada but no luck so far. He LOVES baby einstein videos still, he likes to nap on his side on the bed facing me and cuddled up, he loves to scratch at your face, especially mouth and eyes, and even more so when he's sleepy. He is no longer too interested in his mobile. He is waking around 6:30 or 7 am now which is brutal, But Landon did however just install some new dark curtains in his room and I'm pleased to report that the last two morning we have slept till 8 ish and 9 ish which i am praying will be the new trend. He laughs a lot now, he thinks ling-ling is hilarious especially when she fetches with Landon and when she hacks up a hair ball he will just giggle away. He also finds Landon pretty funny, but me not so much. He is very smiley and sociable and really tries to ham it up when other people talk to him or pay him attention, he loves strangers. He is also loving his jumperoo and we just purchased a new walker which he also loves to play in. Everything under the sun is sure enough going straight to his mouth and he is still drooling buckets, and gnawing on his fist, tonight Landon and i both thought we felt something hard starting to poke through his bottom gums, we are hoping it is a tooth and not our imaginations playing tricks on us. Mason is still obsessed with our pooch ling-ling and she is still not entirely sure if she wants him around or not, most days she is a little playful and a little grouchy towards him all in the same day. We are still struggling with napping at home, he gets fussy and has to be rocked or held until he gives in, out of sheer exhaustion. He naps beautifully when we are out shopping, so we shop a lot.... pretty much daily. He is growing so fast, at our last check he was 14 lbs and 26.5 in long. We graduated from the baby tub to a bath seat in the big bath tub, tonight was our first time trying it and I'm happy to report it was a great success and so much easier than using the baby tub in the sink. He is just too much of a wiggler now and also loves to kick and splash in the water which has been soaking our counters, ourselves, and our floors. So i highly recommend the aquababy bath ring if you need a new option, it's a plastic seat that suctions to the bottom of the bath tub and you just sit them in it and wash them. Well that pretty much wraps up my update on all of Masons big changes now that he is a 5 month old!! I'm not quite sure what we did with ourselves and our time back then. My days now seem packed full of one activity/problem/cry session/feeding/diaper change after another, after another, and so on until my head hits the pillow for a few short hours of blissful peace, quiet and stillness, that i so dearly treasure. And even though i have never felt so tired, busy, needed, and forgetful in all my life, it all seems so worth while when i look at my little boys sweet loving face! He is such an amazing gift, yes, GIFT, he is a blessing from God, and i am thankful every single day that we have him in our lives. God truly answered all of my prayers when he blessed us with Mason, a happy, healthy, loving, funny, sweet, and beautiful baby. Mason has really given my life a sense of meaning and purpose that i didn't have before. He has made me feel more loved and more complete as a person. Landon and I truly feel that sense of being our own family now, now that we have Mason in our lives. We also really want to have another child, Mason has shown us just how incredible it is to be parents and just how special having a child truly is. I know we will not quite feel complete in our hearts until we have another baby, and it is something we really look forward to in the future, but for now we are very happy enjoying Mason and watching him grow. He really is growing and changing so quickly and Landon and i are both trying to take in and absorb every moment of it. I want to remember everything, every smile, every laugh, every "first", every experience. These last 5 months have really been some of the best in my life!! I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband, and Mason couldn't have asked for a better or brighter father than Landon. The two of them are my whole world and I am so excited to see what is in store for us, as long as we are all together i know it will be an amazing life!! God is good!

And I'll leave you with a picture of my hubby and my sweet boy the day after he was born!!

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-85542676905219239302010-06-26T18:55:00.000-07:002010-06-26T19:44:04.721-07:00First Family Vacation

I promised i would post about our first family vacation, once we returned home and i have been very slack about posting lately. We really had a great trip when we took Mason to the beach for the first time. We left thursday night and got to the house in time to feed mason and unpack and get in the bed. It was hard to sleep away from home and with mason in his pack n play versus his own crib in his own room at home, but we made the best of it, we got up early and went to breakfast friday and then we went to the beach for a just a little bit and took mason in his front carrier for a little walk along the beach, while we were walking we saw a big 4-5 foot shark about 10 feet from the shore right in front of us, it scared me half to death and landon took off to inform the parents of a boy who was swimming very close to us. I have never seen anything like that before and it really made me apprehensive about mason ever stepping foot into the water. lol. After we left the beach we went to broadway on the beach and went to the Ripleys aquarium. Mason had an amazing time and landon and i loved it too. We were able to escape the terrible heat and Mason was just fascinated by the different aquariums and fish. I loved watching my little boys face light up with awe as he carefully studied all the beauty within each tank. I cant wait to take him back again one day. That night we took ling ling down on the beach with us and she really had a great time running in the wet sand but the waves and the dry sand were a little scary for her. She wanted to be held a lot but finally became really interested in chasing a flying seagull around and chasing the water as it washed in on the shore. The next day we headed to barefoot landing for a few hours in north myrtle and then stopped by good ol ocean drive (shag capital of the world) my home away from home for a large portion of my youth. We ate lunch at the blvd grill and then stopped by our friends nancy and ron alexanders condo to visit them and for them to meet mason for the first time. It was a nice visit, and afterward we headed back to holden and enjoyed the rest of the day with mason on the beach. He lloked absolutley adorable in his swimsuit, sunglasses, and hat. He was not too happy about the cold water on his feet and he let us know real quick, so landon held him and stood in the water with him and he was happy as a tick watching the waves roll in and out. After a little bit in the water we laid him in his tent and he had some apple juce and water and then he zonked out and napped for several hours while landon and i laid out and enjoyed the sun and sand!! It was a really great day and the most relaxing time we had. That night we got baths all around including ling-ling and then the 3 humans went to dinner, came home and put mason to bed and landon and i enjoyed ice cream sundaes at home on the couch while watching the stepford wives. sunday we woke up and decided we missed our beds, the heat was killing us, and our ymca waterpark was calling our names, so we headed home to charlotte, unpacked our car, put our swimsuits on and went to the waterpark at the ymca to swim. Landon had never seen mason in the pool until then and mason really had the best time he has ever had at the pool, that day with landon there with him.

We really had a wonderful first vacation as a family!! We are really looking forward to our next vacation and i'm sure the older mason gets the more fun he will have but i know, as his parents, we will always remember taking our son to the beach for the very first time together and just how special it was. I can't believe my little boy will be 5 months next week. I feel as though we just came home from the hospital with him. But he really is growing and changing so very much each day. Last month at his 4 month visit he weighed 13 lbs 7 oz. and they had us start him on rice cereal. It really has been fun for Landon and I both to get to sit down together every night and feed mason. It is funny how we both look forward to something so mundane as feeding Mason a few tablespoons of rice cereal and applesauce each night, but it is our 10 minutes of family time that the three of us spend together every night and i love to watch our little guy learning to eat, and so does Landon. It's amazing how much Mason brightens our lives and how his silly little actions never fail to make us laugh and smile. Mason just loves to eat, the first time we fed him, he was tired and grouchy and he pretty much cried the whole time, but now he loves to eat his cereal and applesauce and he gets mad when its all gone!! Here are some pics of the first time mason had cereal!!

Mason is getting so big, right before my eyes, he spends his time trying like crazy to sit up on his own, this child is going to have some amazing abs because anytime he's laying down he lifts his head and tightens his body trying to sit up, it is so cute, and with a little leverage he is able to pull his self into a sitting position. He also has amazing head and neck control, he will reach for you to pick him up now, he can grab things he wants like toys bottles and his spoon when your feeding him. Everything now goes to his mouth, still no teeth but he is constantly chewing on his fists and knuckles, he loves to suck on his thumbs and fingers. He constantly rolls over and pushes his self up into a crawling position, and over the last few days has begun to belly crawl on the floor and bed, this boy will be crawling everywhere very shortly, I'm sure. He can stand with support and pull up into a standing position from sitting or laying.

He now loves his jumperoo, will play in his crib with his mobile on, likes to lay on our bed and roll around while watching his baby Einstein movies, he has a new bean bag that my mother in law bought him and he enjoys sitting in it and watching TV but not for very long periods of time, he will swing occasionally in his front to back swing, but he has sadly outgrown his side to side graco sweet peace swing and his little bassinet, so Landon and i sadly packed those up last week and put them in the attic, i guess we will have to have another baby to get our moneys worth out of them. lol. We are still having daily tantrums if mason is bored or tired, he often fights his naps and i have to rock him in the recliner to get his to fall asleep and quit crying. He loves to grab a hand full of your shirt or hair when he is sleepy, and he will rub his little eyes when he's tired too. I am hopeful that one day the crying won't be as frequent as it is right now, he does wonderful when we spend our days out of the house, but at home he gets bored and fussy frequently.

In other news, we are taking our first family vacation this weekend!! Hooray!! I'm so excited to report that the Greene family will be going to the beach this weekend. Landon and i have not been on vacation together since May 2008 and that seems like forever ago. This will be Masons first real beach trip, since he never even saw the beach while in Charleston with my mom and i. Landon and I both really need this little getaway to relax and have some fun outside of Charlotte. And i am so thrilled to be taking our sweet little boy to the beach together. We plan to leave Thursday night and stay the weekend, it will be just a short and sweet weekend trip but i am very much looking forward to having some quality time with my husband and son, just the three of us!! I will post more when we return!!

Another exciting thing happening around here is that I am planning on returning to UNC Charlotte this fall to finish my degree in Elementary Education. I had planned to return to school for a semester last fall but i was expecting the arrival of Mason and decided that there was too many things going on in my life preparing for Mason that it would be extremely hard for me to put my focus on school. Plus i could not imagine myself in my third trimester (so close to my due date), trying to waddle around campus. So i am pleased to report that i met with an advisor this past week and resubmitted my praxis scores, and I'm all lined up to register, just as soon as the school processes some of my paperwork (which hopefully they will hurry it up bc it is taking forever and classes are filling up). I will be going two days a week starting in August and Landon will be keeping Mason one day and my sister in law will hopefully be keeping Mason the other day (fingers crossed because i don't have a back up). But i am really looking forward to going back to school, because it is so important to me to finish my degree. It will take me about 3 semesters plus student teaching but i am constantly amazed how fast time truly does fly, and i know that if i can just get back on it and stick it out, eventually i will finish. I also have found an online masters degree in education that i hope to obtain after i get my bachelors, but obviously I'm taking it one step at a time, and will be thrilled just to finish my bachelors degree.
Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-9579850567983016372010-05-03T18:55:00.000-07:002010-06-09T06:31:39.287-07:00Outlet malls, Beach Music, and Great-great grannies
So It has been a busy weekend for the Greene family. We have had something going on every single day, but then again that's what the month of May brings!! Thursday my cousin Jill and i went to Gaffney SC to shop at the prime outlet mall, it was a lot of fun but it was one heck of a drive. It took me an hour to drive to fort mill to pick her and her little boy up and then it was another hour and 15 minutes to Gaffney. We had a great time though and did a lot of shopping!! I got mason some wonderful things from the children's place, carters, and a few other stores! some of his clothes i paid only 99 cents for!! You just can't beat that!! My cousin bought some really cute outfits for her baby girl who is due in September!! We had a great time and it was wonderful getting to shop and hangout with her!! Here is a picture of all the great things i bought Mason!

Saturday Mason and I went to a cookout at my brothers house to celebrate a birthday, and then walked down to the beach fest in Matthews park. My mom and my grandma sat with me and mason and we listened to the band of gold and then the drifters performed. It was great to be back around some shaggers and to enjoy some great shag music. Mason was so wonderfully behaved, he really seemed to enjoy the music and enjoyed being outside. He fell asleep in my arms about the time the drifters started so we didn't stay very late. It was masons very first concert, i really hope he learns to love music of all kinds, just like Landon and i do!

Sunday we went to Lancaster with my mom to visit my aunt and my cousin! It was a long trip but it was really great to see them and hangout with them, we don't get to do it often enough!

Today, Landon was home from work most of the day due to the rain, so we decided to re-arrange our bedroom furniture to give us more space in our room. I really don't think i like it this new way, i think i prefer it the way it was before because we seemed to have more space that way, but i would never tell Landon because he didn't really want to move it in the first place and it was so much work to move everything, i know he would kill me if i asked him to move it all back like it was. so i think i am going to try to grin and bear it for a few months then try to coax him into moving it back after a bit! But one nice perk is that we now have the bigger TV set up in our room (we have to get a longer cable cord to hook it up) and we will now be able to watch DVDs and VHS and cable TV in our bedroom!

After we finished tearing our room apart, we went to landon's grandparents on his dad's side of the family! Mason got to visit his great grandma and great grandpa Greene and his Great-Great Granny Blanche who is about 96 yrs old, she was in town and this was the first time she got to see Mason! He was such a little charmer and would smile and laugh at his great grandparents, he was so sweet and they all just loved him up!! While we were there, they took a five generations picture to put in the newspaper! I was happy to have some pictures taken of Mason and his great-great Granny! It was such a special day and I'm so glad that Mason had the chance to meet his great-great granny and for her to get to meet him!! Each day is so precious and you never know how long your loved ones will be here with you, so am so glad we got to spend the day with our wonderful family!! I really married into a wonderful family, Landon has amazing grandparents on both sides!! Here is a pic of the 5 generations!!

After getting back home, we went and bought some daily devotional books, because i have really been wanting to make time everyday with my bible, and i felt like a daily devotional book would be a great way to dig a little deeper into the word of God, and make time for it each day!! I am looking forward to starting tomorrow morning, and i will update later with details about my new books. We also went to three different stores looking for new sheets for our bed, and We finally found some500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets at Marshalls (i love Marshalls) and they are in the dryer as i type this, i am waiting on them to dry and my brownies to finish baking, so that landon and i can curl up in our re-arranged bed with our new clean sheets, and eat our warm yummmy brownies, while watching our "new" TV. Sounds like a perfect night!! I hope everyone else had as wonderful of a weekend as I did!!
Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-74729858678456047942010-04-28T07:35:00.000-07:002010-04-28T10:26:24.143-07:00I've been slacking

14 weeks 2 Days

I'll admit that i have really slacked off on posting new things to my blog. It all started last Thursday, Earth Day, when i had every intention to update my blog about my Earth Day resolutions, but then ended up terribly sick the entire day. Friday i started feeling better, and my wonderful hubby was off work so we went out and bought mason a new jumperoo thing for him to play in and we also went to two saltwater stores and bought some rock and coral for our tank. Then Friday night we were busy and Saturday and Sunday too, and now here it is Wednesday and i am just getting around to posting. So i am going to back track to last Thursday when I was so inspired by Earth Day that i decided to make some changes in the way my family and i are living in order to help the planet. Every year i want to do something to make a difference and before i know it another year has passed and i wish i had done more, i wish i had lived more "green" and so i am really very determined to make a bigger change this year than in the past. Last year i started recycling, it was something i wanted to do for a long time but we didn't have a recycling bin and when i would put our recyclables into a regular plastic bin, the garbage people would dump it anyways, instead of leaving it for the recycling truck. So i am happy to report that we now have two recycling bins and my goal is to become a better recycler and to learn more about what i can recycle, because I'm sure that there are things i am throwing away that could also be recycled. I also plan to educate my family about recycling and encourage them to all start. My other goal is to use reusable bags instead of plastic shopping bags. I've seen so many disturbing things that show how our plastic grocery bags are polluting our environment and our oceans are being devastated by plastics contaminating the water, it is really terrible and so wasteful. There are actually cities that have completely done away with plastic bags all together and only use paper or reusable bags (Sanfrancisco i believe is one of them) and i think this is something every city should start doing. I have plenty of the reusable bags and my resolution is to put them in my car and a couple in my diaper bag and to quit using plastic bags. I also want to start using more natural cleaning products in my home. Now that i have mason, it's important to me not to expose him to a lot of chemicals when we are cleaning and mopping, i want to start buying all natural products to clean and disinfect with, this resolution may take some time to implement because it requires purchasing all new products which can be expensive so my plan is to do it a little at a time each shopping trip until we replace everything in our house with eco friendly products!! We are all ready using natural soap for his baby bottles called "dapple" and also some of the Clorox green products to clean with. We are also growing our own vegetables and although Landon is doing all the work, i am happy that this is one more way to live more green and to save some money in the process. Another change i am trying to make is to be more diligent about leaving lights and TV's on in the rooms that i am not in. I am so bad about this, i love to leave the TV on for ling ling while i am gone during the day, it makes me feel better about leaving her. I also tend to leave the TV on from the minute i get up until i go to bed and sometimes leave both the TV in my bedroom and in the living room on at the same time. I also always leave lights on in other rooms that I'm not even in. This is going to be a hard habit for me to break but i can't wait to see the difference it will make in our power bill. Well, i know i could go on and on forever talking about ways to be green and why i think it is so important and i could discuss for hours all the horrible problems facing our oceans and wildlife that i have been learning lately, but i am going to wrap it up for now and maybe one day soon i will post more about the issues on my mind and give an update on how my resolutions are going!

On to other things! My weight loss plan is still in place but, being sick last week really threw me off track, i only wanted to eat plain foods like rice, mashed potatoes, etc. and it was really a lot of carbs for me. I gained back 3 lbs over the course of the weekend. Eating with friends and family didn't help either. But i am back on track again and am only 2 lbs away from being back at what i was before i got sick. Last night i cheated at dinner but it was worth it, i had dinner with an old friend and i really couldn't believe just how long it had been since we had last saw each other. It was great to see her again though, we talked for hours and could have easily stayed and chatted longer, there was just so much to talk about but i guess that's to be expected when you go so long without seeing someone. I have really missed her, we used to have so much fun together, and i really hope we can become better friends again! She is very easy to talk to and on the way home i wondered if i had talked to much, i have a bad habit of talking peoples ears off sometimes, lol. But i hope that she and i can hang out like we used to, because she is very down-to-earth, and funny, and she loves to shop as much as i do, and we always had a lot in common and liked similar things!! These days my girlfriends are few and far between, and i really miss a lot of the friendships that i have let slip away over time! I really hope to be better about that in the future, and not loose touch with the few friends I've got, and i hope to be able to reconnect with some of my old friends too! I think sometimes we just get so caught up in day to day life, working, kids, bills, money, and then we spend all our free time with our spouses, and we forget how important friendships are!! And lets face it, having friends takes work, you have to make an effort,or else you do grow apart!!

So it appears that May is shaping up to be a busy month for the Greene family, we have two weddings, I'm doing the hair for one of them, we have two cookouts, Landon's birthday, a party for a our friends little girl who is turning one (i just can't believe she is 1 already) and mothers day (this will be my first), Masons 4 month Dr's appointment, and so much more, our calendar is starting to look chaotic!! lol. But i am excited for summer to be approaching!! My cousins are both having babies at the end of the summer in September and they just found out they are both having girls!! It's going to be very exciting and mason will have cousins close to his age but i was hoping one would have a boy so mason would have a playmate, but everyone i know with kids his age have girls!! so he's going to learn early on how to treat little girls! lol! I'm very happy for the two of them though, because i think deep down they both really wanted girls!!! I really hope our next one is a girl, because Landon said two is it for us!! lol so keep your fingers crossed for down the road!

Saturday we added some new additions to the Greene household, in our saltwater tank that is! We added an anemone and two percula clown fish! Here are some pics!! And the rock is new too, we added that Friday!

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-55864594862820946222010-04-20T12:02:00.000-07:002010-04-20T14:48:16.322-07:00Rollie Pollie and a slobbery ThumbSo yesterday was a big day for my little Mason, he had another milestone accomplishment!! Mason rolled all the way over onto his tummy for the first time!! He has been rolling onto his side for a while now but yesterday morning while he was playing on his play mat and i sat in the floor with him while i gabbed on the phone to my friend Erika, Mason rolled himself onto his side then all the way over onto his face and then pushed with his arms and held his head and shoulders up off the floor and looked around, then he started to cry (because he realized he was on his tummy which he hates) so i was totally elated but since he was crying i picked him up and laid him back onto his back and ran to get my camera. When i got back into his room he was on his tummy again, he had rolled while i was gone, so i put him onto his back and he did it again right before my eyes!! i was so proud and all i could think was how proud Landon would be to see this new trick!! I sat and waited for him to do it again, hoping to catch it on video on my point and shoot camera, but he didn't do it again, he just laid there and cried and i knew he was tired and ready for a nap! So after his much needed nap and a bottle, I put Mason in his crib to play while i got his bath ready and when i went to get him undressed he looked as though he was going to attempt to do it again so i whipped out my camera and after a few unsuccessful attempts he finally did it, 3 times and i got them on video for Landon to see!! I was so happy to have caught one of his "firsts" on camera!! Here are some pics! and I will attempt to post one of the short videos but who knows if it will work with my crappy computer being as impossible as it is!!

The night before last Landon and i were sleeping and i kept hearing this weird noise over the monitor, i couldn't figure out what it was and so i went to check on Mason in his crib to see what was going on. I found him with his legs out of the swaddle blanket and sticking up in the air and his hands out of the top of the swaddler and him sucking loudly on his thumb!! The swaddle blanket was pretty much just wrapped around his middle and he was contently sucking away on his thumb which i have not seen since the first time i held him in the hospital!! It brought so many memories to my mind!! Well even though Mason is not normally one to suck on his thumb, he has been known to put his hands in his mouth and suck when he cannot find his paci, but lately the hand to mouth issue has come to be an "all the time" kinda thing! He now prefers his hand to the paci and will drop his paci out so he can fit his fist in his mouth and rather than sucking on it, he seems to gnaw on it! He has been unusually fussy, and running about 1-2 degrees of a fever. I may be wrong but i think he could be teething. The signs seem to be pointing to that! He's only 3 months old (14 weeks to be exact) is that too young? Your opinions are welcome and appreciated!! He doesn't go back to the Dr till his 4 month check in May, so i am curious to know now if it's even a possibility!!

My little boy is growing so fast and changing so much each day!! Before i know it he will be running around and into everything!! And i will need as much energy as possible to keep up with him because he is already a busy little boy!! I have been sticking to my diet with the exception of a few meals where there wasn't much of an option to eat what i needed to, and i have been exercising regularly at least 3 times a week!! I am happy to report that i have lost 7 lbs and i am well on my way to meeting my 10 lbs per month goal. There are 10 days left this month and i have 3 lbs to go in order to meet my goal!! I have been loosing about a lb per day, so losing 3 more lbs shouldn't be too hard! I'm very proud of my self, and i know that reaching these short term goals will ensure that i loose the total amount i want to loose long term!!Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8114749027983742356.post-83993384863413105392010-04-19T09:46:00.000-07:002010-04-19T14:39:48.992-07:00Like Father Like Son

So I have been meaning to post about the amazing bond that i see forming right before my eyes between Mason and Landon!! Everyone says that little boys have a special bond with thier mommas and I do agree that Mason is very attached to me and that i am a special person to him, but he also has a special place for his daddy!! When Landon comes home, Mason will smile and light up at the fact that his daddy is there and is talking to him. He loves when Landon takes him to look in the mirror at the two of them, and Landon loves getting his hands on Mason as soon as he gets home from work and likes to cary him along with him as he waters his plants outside and tends to his new vegetable garden!!

It fills my heart with such happiness to see the two of them together, and i know that as Mason grows up, they will have even more special things to share and enjoy together!! On Tuesday night i got home from working out at the YMCA and Landon had just got home from work, so he watched Mason and was going to start to work on dinner while i got a shower. I knew Mason was tired and fussy and that it would probably be hard for Landon to cook dinner while watching Mason, bc he has recently gotten so spoiled to being held, so i highly doubted that dinner would be done when i got out unless mason was in his crib crying, however i was suprised that when i got out of the shower the house was quiet and when i started looking for my two boys i found them in the kitchen, Mason was sitting in his bumbo on the counter top watching landon cook dinner, and Mason was suprisingly happy. It was such a cute little sight so i took some pics to remember it!

I have always had an interest in photography but have never invested in a good camera, but with the arrival of our little one it was important to me to have a great camera to capture all the important moments. I love pictures and i love taking pictures, and i have really enjoyed my new camera but i still need to learn how to use it to its fullest!! I plan ontaking some classes and investing in photoshop software but in the mean time I decided to take my own pictures of Mason for his easter pics, and i think they turned out pretty well, here are some of my favs!

I also have been wanting to use Mason and recreate a picture of Landon as a baby to compare thier similairites but i just got around to doing it this past sundayand Mason was not very happy about it because it required me putting him on his tummy!! He screamed and cried but i thought the results were pretty funny!! I should have photogrpahed him around 6-8 weeks bc that was about the age of landon in the picture and 5 weeks ago Mason was the spitting image ofhis Dada in the pic! But Here's the best that i got!

Landon

Mason

Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15844727963381776157noreply@blogger.com1
